Privacy Policy
What data this website processes, why, and what rights you have. In short: no cookies, no tracking, no third parties when the page loads.
1. Controller
The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
GEEKMANWuppertal, Germany
Phone / WhatsApp: +49 1575 0781636
WhatsApp chat: wa.me/4915750781636
2. Overview
This website is a pure catalogue. It has no user accounts, no ordering function, no newsletter, no analytics or advertising tools and no cookies. Fonts and scripts are served from our own server; opening the page transfers no data to Google, Cloudflare or other third parties. Personal data is processed in two cases only: technically when the website is accessed (server log data) and when you contact us via WhatsApp or by phone.
3. Hosting and server log data
The website is operated on the servers of an external hosting provider. When you access the website, the web server automatically processes information transmitted by your browser: IP address, date and time of the request, page or file accessed, amount of data transferred, browser type and version, operating system and the previously visited page (referrer).
This data is not merged with other data sources. Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the technically error free presentation, security and stability of the website. Log data is deleted after 14 days at the latest, unless longer retention is required as evidence in the event of a security incident. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider.
4. Cookies and local storage in the browser
This website sets no cookies, neither its own nor those of third parties. There is no tracking and no audience measurement.
For two functions the website stores small technical values in your browser's local storage (localStorage): first, whether you have already closed the notice about data storage, and second, whether you have already seen the suggestion to add the website to your home screen as an app. These values contain no personal data, never leave your device and serve only to avoid showing you the same notices repeatedly. This storage is strictly necessary to provide the service you requested and therefore requires no consent under Section 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). You can delete the values at any time via your browser's site data settings.
5. Progressive web app (home screen installation)
On request the website can be placed on your device's home screen like an app. To do so your browser uses a so called service worker to store copies of the page and images in your device's cache so that the page loads faster and can be displayed even with a poor connection. This data resides exclusively on your device. Installation is voluntary and can be reversed at any time by removing the app or deleting the site data.
6. Contact via WhatsApp
If you write to us via the WhatsApp button or the linked number, the communication is handled through the WhatsApp service. The provider is WhatsApp Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland, a company of the Meta group. We process the data you provide (your phone number, your WhatsApp name, the content of your message and, where applicable, the piece you are interested in) to answer your enquiry and arrange a collection time.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (initiation and performance of a contract) and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in simple and fast communication). When you click the button, the WhatsApp app or WhatsApp Web opens with a pre filled message; data is only transmitted to WhatsApp once you send the message. WhatsApp may process communication metadata (such as time and the numbers involved) on servers outside the EU, in particular in the USA. Meta Platforms, Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; in addition the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses apply. Further information can be found in WhatsApp's privacy policy: whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy-eea.
Your enquiry and the associated chat history are deleted once the enquiry has been fully dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply, and in any case after twelve months at the latest. If you prefer not to use WhatsApp, you can reach us by phone instead.
7. Contact by phone
If you call us, we process the data transmitted (phone number, name, content of the enquiry) solely to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose and no retention obligations apply.
8. External links
The website contains links to WhatsApp. Merely displaying our page transfers no data to WhatsApp; this only happens when you actively click a link. The respective provider is responsible for data processing on the linked pages.
9. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons this website uses TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the address bar beginning with "https://" and the padlock symbol in your browser.
10. Your rights
With regard to the personal data concerning you, you have the following rights against us:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Right to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Right to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)
To exercise these rights an informal message to the contact details above is sufficient.
Right to object
Where we process data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW), Kavalleriestraße 2 to 4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany, www.ldi.nrw.de.
11. No automated decision making
No automated decision making including profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.
12. Changes
We will update this privacy policy if the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
This English version is provided for convenience. In case of doubt the German version (Datenschutzerklärung) prevails.
